In-Home Support
It is the policy of GOSI that all persons receiving in-home supports services are provided with such services in a way that ensures each person’s health and safety while ensuring compliance with all standards and regulations governing in-home supports services. It is GOSI’s policy that each person will develop an in-home supports plan in line with the in-home supports services rule (section 1916 of Chapter 19 of Title 29 of the District of Columbia Municipal Regulations [DCMR]). This plan will be developed prior to the onset of services and will be created with the person, the person’s DDS service coordinator, GOSI, and any family, legal guardian, and/or other person(s) whom the person deems appropriate to contribute to the creation of the plan. The plan will use the person’s interests, strengths, and needs to identify to the best extent possible the services that will be provided to the person by GOSI, GOSI will then mold services around each person plan. It is the philosophy of GOSI that in-home supports services will be used primarily as a means to support persons with achieving the highest level of independence possible in their home and community and to provide periodic assistance to primary caregivers.
GOSI will also ensure:
- All employees providing in-home supports services are trained pursuant to GOSI and DDS policies regarding employee training;
- All employees meet requirements established by sections 1900 and 1916 of Chapter 19 of Title 29 of the DCMR as well as those established by GOSI
- In-home supports services are delivered in compliance with all other applicable DDS policies, standards, and procedures, and as outlined in corresponding GOSI policies and procedures.
- GOSI will ensure that all goals are person centered in areas such as these but not limited to just.
